Skills for Life
Supporting you and your staff ~ resources, information, advice and training available.
“If you think your organisation isn’t affected by poor Skills for Life (communication and maths skills), then think again. Government research shows that, in the South West, 55% of adults do not have the written and spoken communication skills needed to function effectively at work, and 77% do not have maths skills at a level needed by today’s businesses”. There is plenty of free support available to enable you to encourage and support your staff to improve their spoken and written communication skills and basic maths. Support is also available for staff with ESOL needs (English for Speakers of Other Languages). So doing will save you money and help to avoid potentially serious mistakes occurring in the workplace.
Care Learning and Train to Gain are working together to support you and your staff access appropriate Skills for Life resources and training.
