Code on engaging with offenders PDF Print E-mail
A Code of Practice ‘Engaging the perspectives of offenders and former offenders’ has been produced by a coalition of organisations including Clinks, Revolving Doors Agency, Nacro and the Howard League for Penal Reform.

It provides guidance involving offenders appropriately and safely in your work.

Age Concern Heatwave Guide PDF Print E-mail

The four national Age Concerns in the UK have joined together with Help the Aged to form new national charities dedicated to improving the lives of older people.

Summer is usually enjoyable but very high temperatures and humidity can present a risk to health‚ and older people are particularly susceptible to heat-related illness.

This guide explains:

  • how to protect yourself from the heat
  • how to recognise heat-related illness‚ and what to do when someone shows signs of it.

Disposable Gloves: use and management PDF Print E-mail
  This revised health guidance note is for use by Service Providers and Care Commission staff involved in registration, inspection, complaints and enforcement (RICE) activities. It updates previous guidance on the use and management of disposable gloves use as personal protective equipment in the delivery of care and as an aid to the prevention and control of infection.

Train to Gain employer leaflet PDF Print E-mail

The Learning and Skills Council (LSC) has published a leaflet for employers on Train to Gain. It provides an overview of the programme and the benefits of up-skilling and training employees. Benefits include staff retention, fewer job vacancies, a competitive business, higher profits and efficient, motivated staff. It states that 74% of employers using Train to Gain saw an improvement in job-related skills.
