The fourth Report of Skills for Care's Skills Research and Analysis Units

This latest edition of Skills for Care's State of the Adult Social Care Workforce is the most comprehensive yet and contains new information on the complex workforce which provides social care for adults and older people in England.

The report's main objective is to provide a statistical overview of this workforce in 2009, updating previous information and covering new developments in this fast-changing area. The main focus is on the national picture. There are two volumes of the regional statistical summary, volume 2 is available to download now and volume 1, containing estimates of the total adult social care workforce in each region, and projections of the future workforce, will follow shortly.
