Update July 13th 2010 - Care Learning is still currently waiting for our TSIF 2010-2011 contract to be signed off until then we are unable to accept any applications or issue any forms.  In the meantime please ensure your NMDS-SC is updated and has all your workers inputted and updated after the 1st April 2010.  Please contact Philip on 0117 973 3695 if you wish to discuss the funding or NMDS-SC registration.

 

Funding through Care Learning is only available to organisations in Bath & North East Somerset, Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire.

Please note that you must meet the new NMDS-SC criteria for your establishment as described below otherwise we are unable to process your claims once the funding is available.

For an establishment to be eligible for TSI funding in 2010-11, the following three criteria must be met:

  • An establishment which has completed an NMDS-SC organisational record before 1 April 2010 must fully update its organisational data.
  • The establishment must fully complete individual NMDS-SC worker records for a minimum of 90% of its total workforce (this includes any staff who are not care-providing)
  • Individual records for workers completed before 1 April 2010 which are included in the 90% calculation must be both fully completed and updated.

Frequently Asked Questions for TSIF 2010-2011 (subject to funding availability)

How much and when will it be available?

Care Learning will fund £65 per unit, this is a contribution towards the costs you have paid.  You cannot claim for Free or Pre-funded courses such as Train to Gain.  We are expecting that TSIF 2010-2011 should be available through Care Learning in June/July 2010.  Please ensure you meet the NMDS-SC criteria and that you have your evidence collected and ready to be submitted, funding will be given on a first come-first served basis.

What units will be funded?

  • NVQ Health and Social Care Level 2
  • NVQ Health and Social care Level 3
  • NVQ Health and Social care Level 4
  • NVQ 4 Registered Manager [Adults]
  • Leadership & Management for Care Service
  • First Aid
  • Moving and Handling
  • Food Hygiene
  • Learning Disability Qualification (LDQ)
  • Manager Induction Standards (Not Mandatory)
  • Common Induction Standards (CIS) (First 12 weeks covering the 6 principles of care)
All evidence for the above units must be dated after the 1st January 2010.

Evidence requirements:

Common Induction Standard (CIS), Manager Induction Standards and Learning Disability Qualification (LDQ)
Skills for Care form (TBA) - signed and dated by candidate and manager and containing candidates National Insurance Number. (National Insurance numbers will only be used to identify double funding.)


Health and Social Care NVQs:
Unit summary sheet from the assessment centre, awarding body with the Candidate registration number, unit code, unit title, signed and dated by the assessor and internal verifier. We also accept internal verification progress reports or equivalent that must contain candidate name, candidate registration number, assessor & verifier signature, completion date, NVQ short code achieved.

 

First Aid, Food Hygiene and Moving and Handling:

  • A valid Learner Certificate
  • Evidence that shows the course is validated by an awarding or official recognising body. This should be in the form of documentation issued from the awarding or official recognising body to the training provider stating that they are approved to deliver that particular course (if not clearly demonstrated on the Learner Certificate)
  • The Skills for Care claim form (TBA) fully completed

 

Moving & Handling of People
For Moving & Handling of people we are aware that there are only a few identifiable external awarding bodies. As a result we will accept the following:

  • Either the CV or qualifications demonstrating the trainer's ability to train in this subject
  • Documents detailing the learning outcomes and/or assessment criteria
