Care Learning supports the voluntary and independent care sectors by providing:

  • funding for training (when available)
  • information on training providers, courses and costs
  • support and information on workforce planning and development
  • conferences, seminars, workshops & information days
  • forums and networks to discuss current issues and share learning experiences
  • newsletters - a full colour printed version twice a year and email bulletins throughout the year
  • website of information: training providers, news, funding applications and lots more.

Care Learning runs a range of projects to develop and support the social care sector. These include:

  • Careers in Care (Care Ambassador - recruitment and retention scheme) www.careersincare.info
  • National Minimum Data Set for Social Care - providing advice and support to employers on completing and updating this important tool.
  • Funding for training
  • ...and all through the year Care Learning takes on new and exciting projects to enhance and develop the social care sector as a whole.

Care Learning is managed by an elected Board of Directors, supported by a consultative group of representatives from:

 

Employers from the different areas of social care work incorporating:

  • statutory sector (Unitary Authorities)
  • voluntary and independent sectors - representing the different aspects of social care (i.e. Nursing, Domiciliary, Learning Disabilities, Mental Health, Drugs & Alcohol, Elderly Residential, Dementia, Direct Payments, service users and carers)
